📄 Update: No More Certified Translations for Visitor Visas – Effective 26 May
From 26 May, certified translations are no longer required for supporting documents submitted with visitor visa applications. This update aligns New Zealand's process with Australia's and is designed to make applications smoother and more accessible.
✅ What You Still Need to Do:
Provide translations for any supporting documents not in English.
Clearly state who translated the document and include their qualifications or translation experience.
🚫 Translations cannot be done by:
The applicant themselves
A family member
An immigration adviser involved in the application
📌 Important: This change only applies to visitor visas. Certified translations are still required for resident visa applications.
