On 9th August, the Government announced that visa charges, including fees and levies, will increase from 1st Oct 2024.

📢 Important Visa Update: Longer visas for partners of New Zealanders
The government has announced changes to the maximum duration of work and visitor visas for partners of New Zealand citizens or residence class visa holders who have lived together for at least 12 months. The visa duration is being extended from 2 years to 3 years.
This extension provides couples with additional time to save for residence application fees and brings visa durations in line with those given to partners of temporary migrants.
The change applies to applications received from 1 October 2024, as well as those submitted but not yet decided by that date. Current visas will not be automatically extended, so a new application must be made for the longer duration.
This update is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to build a world-class immigration system that attracts and retains the talent and expertise needed to support New Zealand's economic growth.
