Immigration New Zealand to Accept Only In-Person OET Tests from 13 July 2026

Immigration New Zealand (INZ) has announced an important update to its English language testing requirements for visa applicants using the Occupational English Test (OET).

From midnight (NZST) on 13 July 2026, applicants must complete all components of the OET at an approved, supervised test centre. OET tests completed online from home will no longer be accepted for immigration applications submitted using OET as evidence of English language proficiency.

From 13 July 2026, Immigration New Zealand will only accept:

✅ OET tests completed entirely at an approved in-person test centre.
❌ OET at Home (online) tests taken on or after 13 July 2026 will not be accepted.
